Where time is uncertain, label it uncertain. The line reveals whether delay came from finding the source, choosing an owner, reproducing the asset, or obtaining approval.

Estimate exposure only from available platform data; do not invent reach. Record audience, channel, geography, dates, and whether the asset was public, paid, shared privately, or merely scheduled. Separate known views from possible access.

Use three containment states. Red means remove or pause while the issue is resolved; Amber means limit distribution and add a deadline; Green means leave live with documented evidence. BrandFive 06 — Claim exposure

Classify the text defect: factual error, expired offer, missing qualification, prohibited promise, or translation error. Link it to the approved source. If the source itself was wrong, correction begins upstream; if the source was right but the output changed it, investigate the transformation and review steps.

The brand system should keep claim text separate enough to locate every reuse. A template helps only when teams know which instances inherit a change and which have become detached copies.

For the replay, seed a harmless test defect in a nonpublic duplicate—such as an outdated internal phrase—then ask the team to find every derivative. Never introduce a false public claim for testing. Record which system surfaces inheritance, which relies on naming conventions, and which requires manual search.

BrandFive 07 — Persona break

Evaluate face, body, hairstyle, age presentation, wardrobe, voice relationship, manner, and permitted use. A persona break is not merely aesthetic when audiences rely on a recurring host. Compare the failed frame with the approved persona references, not with a vague impression.

Test whether a correction to the approved origin can propagate predictably. If the team cannot identify affected templates, the system has reuse without control.

The release owner signs the final evidence: destination, claim source, persona match, rights, disclosure, locale, links, and file. They need authority to stop a release. Assigning this role to “marketing” creates no accountability.

Use a one-line approval state—ready, blocked, or released—plus reviewer, time, and evidence link. Chat reactions and verbal approval are not sufficient for high-risk assets.

Apply a separation-of-duties check when practical. The person who creates or regenerates the asset should not be the only person who releases a material claim or identity-sensitive version. If a small team cannot separate those roles, require a timed second pass with the approved origin open beside the candidate.

BrandFive 13 — Where correction begins
